HOW TO BE LOUD ABOUT SILENT CENSORSHIP
How to be Loud about Silent Censorship, an interactive experience, designed for CensHERship & The Case for Her, intended to raise awareness of the issue of gender-biased censorship on social media. The experience consists of a pop-up board, appearing in cities around the country, with peep-holes cut out of the board for curious people to look through.
Through the peep-holes are animations discussing these issues, as well as an interactive photograph and audio element at the end, where the user can take a photo and share their own experiences with censorship. Throughout, there is audio playing for the users to listen to while going through the experience, which is recorded from previous users sharing their experiences.

ANIMATION 1
BY ELLIE
This animation shows the type of images women can post, that are not inherently inappropriate, which are unfairly censored without consideration of the intention of the posts.
ANIMATION 2
BY BETHAN
This animation shows how this censorship works with the language used on social media too, illustrating how you can easily view men's health content, yet women's health content is blocked & hidden.
ANIMATION 3
BY ELLIE
This animation shows how moderators can be biased based on gender when censoring social media posts, as often these moderators are paid based on the amount of posts censored.

stickers & Photography
We made stickers to stick around Loughborough town centre, illustrating how we would stick them around iconic landmarks, such as the infamous 'Sock Man', to create intrigue and excitement about the experience.
